DIGITAL IMAGES
EVENT FLYER
INFOGRAPHIC
LOGO
Creating this event flyer for the University of Florida vs. Vanderbilt game day presented an opportunity to use design principles. In the initial step of gathering digital images involved selecting and manipulating images of the two teams. Here, I applied the design principles of "Contrast" and "Alignment." Placing the team images on opposite sides of the flyer highlighted the visual contrast between their colors and logos, effectively representing the opposing teams. Proper alignment along the center maintained a balanced flyer. Adding text information below the images allowed for the usage of "Alignment" and "Empty Space" principles. In the final steps, I revisited design principles like "Repetition" and "Contrast" to ensure consistency and visual appeal. This project demonstrated the educational value of design principles in creating organized and visually appealing materials.
The choice of a smiley face, painted in a yellow color, serves as a universal symbol of happiness and positivity. It aligns well with the core message of what I think is kindness. The rectangle framing the smiley face provides structure and balance to the design, while the choice of a purple background adds depth and contrast.
The phrase "Always Be Kind" in uppercase letters not only reinforces the central message but also adds a level of emphasis and importance to it. It conveys a strong and clear statement of my values, influenced by my mother's lessons. This logo then becomes a visual representation of my personal values and the principles. My creation of this logo reflects my creative approach to visual communication, showing the value of kindness that my mother instilled in me.
In this project, elements like the Cuban flag and the outline of Cuba serve as visual cues, immediately drawing attention to the subject matter. These elements not only provide a sense of identity but also offer a visual representation of the country itself. The inclusion of facts about geography, culture, history, economics, and more adds depth to my infographic. Designing this infographic about a specific country like Cuba helps me connect to my roots. I can explore not only geography and history but also cultural aspects, economics, and more. In conclusion, creating this infographic about Cuba that incorporates characteristics and facts from different factors is a valuable and meaningful project to me. It challenged me to research and present information in a visual way, enhancing my skills in both content understanding and visual communication.
